Overview

Doqo ("we", "our", "the app") is a document scanning application for iOS. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Data We Collect

On-Device Data (stays on your phone)

Scanned documents — images, OCR text, and metadata are stored locally on your device.
App settings — preferences like view mode, sort order, and theme are stored in UserDefaults.
Summary usage count — stored in iOS Keychain to track free tier usage.

This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly share or export a document, or enable iCloud Sync.

Cloud Data

AI features — When you use AI summaries or Chat with Documents, the OCR-extracted text from your document is sent to Google's Gemini API for processing. We do not store this data on our servers. Google's privacy policy applies to this processing.
iCloud Sync (optional, Pro feature) — If enabled, your documents and folders are synced via Apple's CloudKit. Apple's privacy policy governs iCloud data.
Subscriptions — Managed entirely by Apple via StoreKit. We do not collect or store payment information.

Advertising

Doqo uses Google AdMob to show optional rewarded video ads (free tier only).
AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data for ad personalization. You can opt out via the App Tracking Transparency prompt shown on first launch.
Pro subscribers never see ads.

Data We Do NOT Collect

We do not require account creation or login.
We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or location.
We do not sell any data to third parties.
We do not have our own servers or databases.

OCR & Scanning

All document scanning and text recognition (OCR) is performed entirely on your device using Apple's Vision framework. No images are uploaded for OCR processing.

Third-Party Services

Google Gemini API — for AI summaries and document chat. Google AI Terms

Apple CloudKit — for optional iCloud sync. Apple Privacy Policy

Children's Privacy

Doqo is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
